About

A ritual, not a playlist.

Ember is a free deep-work ritual that runs in your browser. This site is where we explain the thinking behind it, and the research, without dressing it up.

What Ember does

Most focus tools start at the timer. Ember starts sixty seconds earlier: it asks what this block is for, what you are deliberately not doing, and why it matters. Then it holds the block, then helps you recover and write down where you stopped. Four parts: Ignite, Focus, Recover, Return.

What we promise, and what we don't

We cite the studies we lean on and say plainly where they are thin. We don't claim Ember is "scientifically proven", we don't say it was designed for any diagnosis, and we don't sell a sound that "rewires your brain". A ritual makes starting easier and finishing cleaner. The work in the middle is still yours.

Who makes it

Ember is built by Malika Sani, an accountant turned app builder who documents the process in public. The founder's story lives on her own channels; this site stays about focus.
